The river has always been a place of both leisure and work; swimming and fishing, floating and trading

The last 150 years we have been putting that on steroids. Leisure is booming business; manicured holiday parks with identikit houses for identikit experiences – safe and civilised. Industry at scale, each cluster the size of a small village, flaming chimneys, billowing smoke, coal mountains. Now advertising their plans to be carbon neutral several decades from now.
